When Your Manager Disappears
Next to the promise of death and taxes?

There is one thing certain in the car business: Management Change. How you handle the changes will have a significant impact on your success, so it?s best to know what to expect and how to handle yourself.

Change Strategy #1 ? Don't change

Many employees take the same approach to management change as they do to a new job. They decide that "Today, I'm going to become a different type of employee." Don't kid yourself, that won't work. Your past behavior, attitudes and results have already established your reputation within the company and the word will get to your manager. If you're already a hard worker who gets results, there is no need to change anything. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.

Change Strategy #2 ? Go with the flow

Change can often be the best thing to happen to a company. When water pools up and doesn?t move, it becomes stagnant and whatever garbage finds its way into the pool will remain floating around. But when fresh water is allowed to flow in and new ideas are allowed to flow out, the natural flow cleans out the garbage and the stagnation.

Change Strategy #3 ? Help them succeed by being open minded

The worst thing a new leader can have is a bunch of closed minded and negative employees. Choose to listen to the new ideas, try them, and look for ways to make them succeed. Remember, the goal of the new manager is to make more money for the company. When the company makes more money, it usually means more money and benefits for you.
