Cotton in Augusta
"They must own cotton in Augusta"
is a term sometimes used to describe a successful person in the south. In the 1800’s, cotton was the most profitable crop in the south. To be successful and reap the benefits of this "white gold", one must start with the planting of a seed! Are you planting seeds in your service department?

We all know closing rates are higher with consumers with whom we already have a relationship. With this in mind, a longtime associate and I began to view ourselves as farmers. Our customer data base is our "field", our products our seeds, and consumer purchases our harvest!

Let me explain how to plant your seeds. New and Pre-Owned vehicle customer delivers should receive a Service Menu (seed). All vehicle delivers should have the first oil change (seed) reservation scheduled. Service specials (seed) and menus (seed) should be posted through out the store. Planting these simple seeds will begin "growing" the trust in your customer's mind.

Customers will request scheduled services rather then you cold selling the menu. The harvest begins! But, the planting doesn’t stop there. Service Salespeople should share the benefits of the Service Menu (seed) with the customer during the service visit. The customer should know what maintenance is due on each service visit.  It is your responsibility to plant the seeds.

Let us not forget about the "front 40"! If we took a walk through your service department, would we find any Sales Department seeds such as Post monthly incentives (seed), Post photos and specials on over age pre-owned vehicles (seed)? This is just a small portion of seeds available to you.

Contact the professionals at Auto University and begin your Harvest! With the proven service process from Auto University, you can have a cotton patch in Augusta!
