Focusing on Safety
When important safety factors come into play

As the proud parent of two kids – aged thirteen and two – I have to ensure that safety is a number one concern when we are on the sometimes difficult roads this upcoming winter.

Believe it or not, living in Nova Scotia in the winter can cause some driving concerns even when one is driving a large vehicle through the snow.

When Service Consultants are greeting customers at their vehicles this fall and winter, are they checking the tires WITH the customer to ensure driving safety? For those mothers who come in with their kids and want to ensure that everything on the vehicle is winter ready, it is even more important to check the tires because these busy moms may rarely ever look at the tires themselves.  Wouldn’t this be a great opportunity, as well as good service, to visually inspect the tires? Should there be any concerns with the depth or quality of the tire, what a great visual to get down on one knee and show the customer.

Also, while conducting the walk-around use the wiper blades as a visual! During our winter months, how many additional wiper blades could be sold if we simply showed the customer the need for them and recommended new ones?

We obviously don’t want to create undue fears of winter driving; however, proper preparation is a great way to have peace of mind during this season.

So, greet the customers at their vehicles.  Be prepared for your customers with pre-work order folders based on their reservations and build relationships with your customers, ensuring a safe winter driving season!
