He was the greatest archer of all time, but he never wore tights… |
From 1925 until his death in 1975, Howard Hill compiled a record of feats with bow and arrow that will likely never be equaled. Some of these include:
- Killing 3 bull elephants using a 115 lb. hand drawn bow
- Winning 196 field archery tournaments in a row
- Drawing 35,000 spectators in Grants Park, Chicago in 1941, where the crowd tore the shirt off his back and took his arrows, bow and quiver as souvenirs.
Zig Ziglar vs Howard Hill In his seminars, renowned motivation speaker and sales guru, Zig Ziglar, tells his audience that he can have any of them shooting the bow and arrow better than Howard Hill in just 15 minutes. Provided, of course, Howard Hill was blind folded and spun around in circles several times. Ziglar suggests that it’s pretty difficult to hit a target that you can’t see. And he drives his point further when he says, “it’s even harder to hit a target that you don’t even have.” No goal, No target! Many people have no goals at all. And even Howard Hill would be unable to prove his abilities without a target. That’s why many salespeople, service advisors and managers, are wasting their potential by not targeting specific goals. But you can’t just gather a group of people around and say, “There’s the target! Let’s go!” In our next article we’ll reveal why some people never seem to break through the barriers that stand in the way of achieving success. |
