Visualize Your Goal By: Will Parquette - Training Director, Gates Automotive Group
Setting a goal for the month’s sales isn’t really hard- pick a number that makes
sense. It should be realistic, consistent with your program and attainable.
Write it down and then work throughout the month to try to hit it. This method
is the first step but your goal will be much more within your reach if you
visualize it up front and have a tangible way to check your progress. Here’s a
suggestion:
Start each new month by setting a goal and then taking a stack of fresh new
manila folders out. Into each folder insert a buyer’s order form and any other
pieces of paperwork necessary to complete a deal. Make up one folder for each
unit you plan to sell that month, and then place them in your desk file drawer.
When you sell a vehicle, take out the next folder and write the order. By doing
it this way you are always prepared to do business and keep the momentum going
with your customer throughout the sales process. When you open your file drawer
you know exactly where you stand toward your goal at any time in the month. Try
this tip and see if it doesn’t help produce additional sales!
